Peter Kang, MD
Neurology Residency Program Director

Education is one of our fundamental pillars. We believe it is critically important to train future generations of clinicians who are adept at caring for critically ill patients with diseases of the nervous system.

PGY-1 Neurosurgery interns, PGY-2 Emergency Medicine residents and PGY-2 & 3 Neurology and Pediatric Neurology residents rotate with us year-round as a core part of their residency training. In addition, other residents may elect to spend time with us (e.g., radiology, anesthesiology and others). Medical students also rotate with us throughout the year. We accept Phase 2: Gateway to Clinical Medicine students in the Neurology clerkship, Phase 3 Gateway to Specialization students via an Advanced Clinical Rotation (ACR), as well as 4th year students at other accredited medical schools through VSLO/VSAS and the WUSM Electives office.

Here you will learn the fundamentals of acute care neurology, neurosurgery and critical care medicine. You will master the skillsets needed to care for these severely ill patients with multi-system involvement of their pathology in a multidisciplinary, collaborative setting. Please do not hesitate to contact me with interest or any questions. We all look forward to working with you.
